Beaches Habitat offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit your unique abilities. Time commitments vary so you may choose to volunteer as little or as often as you like.

Education Programs - Now recruiting for the fall semester!

Beaches Habitat for Humanity welcomes volunteers to work one on one with middle and high school students to improve their math and reading skills.  We are recruiting tutors for all school levels with a particular need for high school tutors, especially Algebra.  Volunteer tutors commit to 1 to 2 hours per week, Monday through Thursday afternoons during the school year.  Training will be provided.  Please call Sue at (904) 343-3026 or Kathy at (904) 504-2422 for details.

General Office

Data Entry
Help us keep our database current by entering and updating volunteer information. Data Entry volunteers are asked to commit to an ongoing, one day per week schedule due to the need for training and consistency in data entry. Hours will vary, but are typically 2 to 6 per week. Request more information.

Photography
Beaches Habitat loves to share the wonderful work that volunteers are doing by photographing them in action! Volunteers can help us capture great moments to post on our website and other social media. Hours are flexible, but must be concurrent with the construction schedule. Age and safety restrictions apply. Request more information.

In-Kind Coordinator
While monetary donations are a huge part of the support that keeps Beaches Habitat going, in-kind gifts are also essential! While planning for events, particularly, Collegiate Challenge, Beaches Habitat seeks out sponsorships of food, gift-cards and other items. Volunteers can assist by writing letters and making phone calls to local businesses. Hours are flexible, but depend on our event calendar. Request more information.

Committees

Family Selection
The committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity.  Request more information.

Family Support
Works with families through sweat equity, home ownership education, home purchase process, adjustment to new responsibilities and continued partnership with the organization. The committee is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating this aspect of the program.  Family Support is not currently seeking additional volunteers.

Event Support

Live music and dancing are just part of the fun at Beach Bash!

Beach Bash
Beach Bash is our primary fundraising event.  An evening celebration, it includes live music, heavy hors d’ouevres from local area restaurants and complementary beer and wine.  Volunteers can assist in planning, securing donations, and many other aspects of the event.  Time commitments vary.  Request more information.

Builders Classic Golf Tournament
Each year, Beaches Habitat and Oceanside Rotary partner to put on a charity golf tournament.  In addition to the best ball tournament, the event includes lunch and a buffet dinner for all golfers.  Volunteers can assist in planning, securing donations, and many other aspects of the event.  Request more information.

Hats, Hope and Habitat
This annual luncheon benefits Beaches Habitat education programs.  Participants are invited to put their creativity to good use by decorating their tables and wearing their best hats.  Volunteers can assist in planning, securing donations, and many other aspects of the event.  Request more information.
