Youth Development Programs

Our Education Mission

Beaches Habitat goes beyond its home building mission to provide educational opportunities to help homeowners and children build brighter futures for themselves. Our programs foster early learning experiences, support academic achievement, promote completion of high school and help prepare students for college or vocational training.

Prep Club

High school student

A high school student from the Beaches Prep Club program is receiving information about the Florida State College of Jacksonville

Prep Club recognizes and rewards students for their academic accomplishments. Students receive cash rewards for A’s and B’s in academic subjects and for perfect attendance each quarter. Prep Club members are also required to complete 10 hours of community service each school year. Prep Club parties are held at the end of each quarter to celebrate everyone’s hard work. Currently, there are 164 students enrolled in Prep Club. Prep Club, another great idea conceived by Herb Scheidel in 2000, motivates and encourages students to stay in school and eventually attend college. The Prep Club is funded by the Scheidel Family Foundation.
