At Beaches Habitat for Humanity, we recognize that we would be nowhere without our dedicated network of volunteers. To that end, we welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need. Whether serving on a committee, building on the worksite, mentoring after school or helping out around the office, we are so very thankful to all our volunteers!
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Sue Goebertus

Sue Goebertus (front right) and friends at the first-ever Hats, Hope & Habitat education fundraiser on May 13, 2010
Occupation: Teacher/Volunteer
Hometown: New City, New York
Favorite part of working with Habitat: Hands down, the children! I must add that the supportive staff and other volunteers enhance my afternoons at the Jordan Center.
“Volunteering with the after-school program has been a wonderful and gratifying experience. One can’t help but to be drawn to the energy and charm of the children and they are so welcoming of the attention and care from each volunteer. Whether it’s reading a novel in book club, reviewing math problems or creating art, we explore and enjoy together! If you are thinking about volunteering, don’t delay – just come along!”
