MLK Day of Service

MLK Day of Service

On the third Monday of January for the last 26 years, all across the nation, Americans have served their communities in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Touted as “a day on, not a day off,” the MLK Day of Service has been championed by AmeriCorps, including the members that serve with Beaches Habitat for Humanity, who lead and participate in service projects.

MLK Day 2021 falls on January 18, and while it will look different than in years past, Americans are still encouraged to take some time to help make their community a better place. How will you serve this year?

  • Connect with Someone: Check on your neighbors, friends, and family – especially those who are older or may be alone. A phone call, text, or a conversation through the door could brighten their day.
