Volunteer

All are welcome.

Habitat is a partnership founded on common ground – bridging theological differences by putting God’s love into action. All who desire to be a part of this work are welcome, regardless of religious preference or background.

Help us build hope at the beaches.

In working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience firsthand the joy created when a family is able to realize their dream of homeownership. Though the vast majority of our volunteers has no construction experience, our volunteers are involved in most phases of construction. Our goal is to build or rehabilitate 20 homes a year, each of which takes approximately 1300 volunteer hours to build.  Some restrictions apply to construction opportunities. Please take a few moments to read our Construction Volunteer FAQ.

Introducing VolunteerUP, our new and improved volunteer registration system! All volunteers are required to register with VolunteerUP to help with the construction program. Even if you have volunteered in the past, it’s important that you enter your information into the new system! The new form is easy to complete, but the Volunteer Coordinator is available to help you every step of the way. Feel free to call (904) 241-1222 to have your questions answered!

Help without a hammer.

From mentoring a child in our after-school program to serving on one of our committees, we offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit your unique abilities. Time commitments vary so you may choose to volunteer as little or as often as you like. Though VolunteerUp is primarily used to schedule construction volunteers, take advantage of the “Skills and Interests” section to let us know what your talents are! When opportunities arise, like helping with the newsletter or serving on a committee, we’ll be sure to contact you so you have a chance to work with other Beaches Habitat programs and departments.
