BUILD

What is Veterans Build?

Veterans Build is Habitat for Humanity’s initiative to provide housing solutions and volunteer and employment opportunities to U.S. veterans, military service members, and their families.

Veterans Build projects can include new home and owner-occupied repair projects. Our upcoming Veterans Build will be new construction.

Why Veterans Build?

Jacksonville is a military town. According to 2020 census data, about 80,000 veterans live in Jacksonville. If you add in the more than 10,000 personnel on area military installations, not to mention their family members, those who are serving or have served make up a large portion of Jacksonville’s population.

In keeping with Jacksonville’s goal of being the most military and veteran-friendly city in the nation, Beaches Habitat’s Veterans Build will help veterans and their families find the housing assistance they need. The program will also engage veterans and military personnel in providing those services through volunteer opportunities and financial support.
