Construction Volunteer Groups

Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Beaches Habitat for Humanity! Your health and safety are important to us and we want to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable build experience.

Our volunteer builds have resumed with limitations. For the time being, opportunities are only available for future homeowners, volunteer Crew Leaders, and "experienced" volunteers.

We recognize this decision may be disappointing for some volunteers and groups who are looking forward to helping. However, as our team adjusts to a new way of building in light of the pandemic, we feel that limiting volunteer opportunities in the short term is the best choice for the long term health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and homeowners.

Whether you are looking for an opportunity for your company, church group, family or more, we welcome groups to reserve a day to build on our construction sites. Group scheduling is done on a first-come, first-served basis for 5 or more people on Tuesday through Thursday from 8am to 12pm or 8am to 4pm, on Friday from 8am to 12pm and on Saturday from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Group reservations are secured through communication with our Community Outreach Director, Sarah Jared (904-595-5793 or

The work you will be doing is real construction work! It can sometimes be tough and there are always risks associated with construction. To help maintain a safe site, there are a few things you need to know before signing up for a group volunteer opportunity:

  • Equipment and on-site training for all tasks will be provided.  Volunteers of all experience levels, including those with no experience, are welcome.
  • All volunteers will be asked to provide complete our volunteer form, which includes contact information, demographic questions and a release and waiver of liability, in order to volunteer. Once your group reservation has been confirmed, the form will be emailed to the group contact person.
  • The minimum age to volunteer is 16. Youth volunteers will be asked to wear a colored wrist-band on site and will need a release form completed by their parent or legal guardian in order to volunteer on the construction site.
  • Youth Groups may participate in construction with adult supervision. When calculating your group size, please include 1 adult volunteer (25 or older) for every 4 youth volunteers.
  • If you will have youth volunteers in your group, please include the approximate number in the "Additional Comments" section of the form below.
