The Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation Fund and Help Raise First Wall of a Beaches Habitat Home

Atlantic Beach, Florida The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation has partnered with Beaches Habitat for Humanity to fund a new home in Haywood Estates II, a 12-home community near Mayport Road. The home is part of an accessible duplex for two families, each with a child with cerebral palsy (CP).

The home sponsored by the Foundation will be purchased by Alfie Tuff, a single mom with two daughters. Alfie’s older daughter has CP and their new home will include an accessible first floor with a ceiling mounted lift system that will make it easier for her to move throughout the house. “Being able to help these families find a forever home that will fit the needs of their special children is amazing!” said Jim Furyk.

The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation was created in 2010 to help children and families in need in the greater Jacksonville area. The Foundation partners with local charities to provide project specific funding to help communities become healthier, stronger and educationally enriched. This is the first home the Foundation is sponsoring with Beaches Habitat for Humanity and they are thrilled to expand their charitable partners. Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS Golf Tournament brings the community together to raise necessary funds and awareness for programs like Beaches Habitat for Humanity.

“We are extraordinarily grateful to the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation for this very generous donation. Their support is a true blessing to us and the Tuff family,“ said Beaches Habitat President and CEO, Curtis Ford. The Furyks recently joined the future homeowners and a small group of community members in Haywood Estates II for a ceremonial raising of the first wall of the duplex. Ceremonies are typically open to the public, but attendance was limited in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Beaches Habitat will premiere a video from the ceremony on their website and Facebook page on Saturday, February 6th at 3 PM.
