Collegiate Challenge 2019

Students Breaking a Difference!

For more than 25 years, Habitat has provided alternative school break volunteer opportunities to high school and college students. Since this program began in the late ’80s, more than 250,000 have committed to building safe, affordable homes across the United States through Collegiate Challenge.

Over the course of 4 weeks, Beaches Habitat hosted students from Milwaukee School of Engineering, Mount St. Mary’s University, Siena Heights University, Youngstown State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Clemson University. Beaches Habitat welcomed some of these schools for the first time, while others return year-after-year.

From the 7 colleges, over 80 participants brought an unmatched energy to our work site each and every day. When all was said and done, they contributed over 2,560 volunteer hours on 4 Beaches Habitat projects! Would you be up for that challenge?

Collegiate Challenge 2019 at Beaches Habitat would not have been possible without our many community partners that provided food and housing for the students. Thank you to all participants and sponsors for helping to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter in our community!
