Prep Club Members Thriving

Seven Scheidel Scholars will attend the University of North Florida or Florida State College of Jacksonville this fall, with an eighth graduate heading straight to a career in the military.

The recent graduates were part of the Prep Club, an incentive program supported by the Scheidel Foundation. Prep Club members are awarded for attendance and academic performance in middle and high school.
For the 2022-2023 school year, Prep Club Members averaged an impressive 3.51 average GPA (Grade Point Average) for high school members and 3.36 for middle school members.

Prep Club Coordinator, Doug Brown, recently launched a new initiative for members called the Prep Club Club (PCC). PCC will focus on leadership and community service and will include a leadership board that consists of high school officers, who will be responsible for planning and implementing service activities. PCC members have already begun planning a community service calendar of activities for the upcoming school year.

“I think we had a really good year and I’m looking forward to the PCC in full swing next year”
